If the player does not attend a school within, but resides within our league boundaries, then 3 proofs of residency will be accepted for verification.

We are updating our name this year to Battle Creek Area Little League to better reflect the area we serve. Our Little League tee ball, baseball, & softball programs are NOT just for Lakeview students. Our league boundaries cover most of Calhoun County; including Battle Creek, Springfield, Bedford, Marshall, Pennfield, & Harper Creek areas. If you are enrolled in a school (by 10/1/23) or reside (by 2/1/24) in the area shown in yellow below, you are eligible to join.

Once registered online, please print, complete, & return the attached forms along with a copy of the player's birth certificate. Paper forms are required in addition to the online portion.
Forms can be turned in at Winter Workout Clinics or Player Evaluations. All paper work & fees are due by Saturday March 16, 2024.

Bring non-perishable food items to be donated to the South Michigan Food Bank.
All players, coaches, and families meet at Greenfield North for Opening Day Ceremonies.
We will be collecting non-perishable food donations for the South Michigan Food Bank.

REGULAR SEASON GAMES

ALL STARS
Players in Minors, Majors, 50/70, & Juniors divisions may be selected for an All-Star team. These games are played (late June-August) after the regular season. Additional fee may apply.

WEATHER
Cold: Practices/Games will not be held if temperature is below 40 degrees (including wind chill).
Rain: Field conditions will be evaluated for player safety and determination will be made on a case by case basis.
Thunder/Lightning: 30 minute delay from each new observation of either thunder or lightning. All players must exit the field/dugouts and go to their vehicles.
Thunderstorm/Tornado Watches: Games are not suspended during watches unless other conditions are present.
Thunderstorm /Tornado Warnings: Games will be suspended while a warning is active in the county where the game is being held.

CANCELLATIONS
Cancellations will be communicated by your player's coach as soon as possible. Please make sure that they have your correct contact info.
League wide cancellations will be communicated via the LYA Facebook page.

MANDATORY FUNDRAISER

Cost is $40 (added to registration) and includes 4 Hungry Howie's pizza certificates that can be re-sold to family & friends for $10 each. Each certificate is redeemable at Hungry Howie's for a medium 1 topping pizza. Additional certificates will be available for those that wish to sell more. Our fundraiser profits are used to provide porta potties, field maintenance supplies, and umpires.

Baseball Divisions (Co-Ed)

LYA Baseball Divisions Explained 

(League age is determined by player's age as of 8/31/24)

All baseball divisions are co-ed.

*NEW* Tee Ball (League Age:4-6) Cost: $40/player

Tee Ball is the entry level division for players league ages 4-6.

The experience is grounded in fun, fitness, and fundamentals while also being a key to growing a child's love for the game. Players use bats and balls designated specifically for use in this division. The roster size for the team averages 7-10 players, with a season featuring 1-2 practices/games per week early April thru mid-June.

This division will play on home fields only.

Youth athletes are provided a team shirt.

Players will be able to use team protective player equipment and team bats if needed. (Players may purchase a personal bat, but it must be a Little League approved bat. Please check with coaching or director staff to confirm your bat is legal for use. You may also find bat information on the official Little League Website.)

 

"Little" Minors (Machine Pitch) (League Age:6*-8) Cost: $95/player

Machine Pitch-"Little" Minors division is for players league ages 6*-8. (6 year olds must play 1 season of Tee Ball before registering in this division.)

The experience is grounded in fun, fitness, and fundamentals while also being a key to growing a child's love for the game. Players use bats and balls designated specifically for use in this division. The roster size for the team averages 9-13 players, with a season featuring 1-2 practices per week early April thru mid-June and 1-2 games played during the week late April/early May thru mid-June.

This division may play inter-league with surrounding District 2 LL Leagues in the Battle Creek/Kalamazoo area.

Youth athletes are provided a team shirt, hat, and socks. *Players will need to get their own black baseball pants & belt.

Players will be able to use team protective player equipment and team bats if needed. (Players may purchase a personal bat, but it must be a Little League approved bat. Please check with coaching or director staff to confirm your bat is legal for use. You may also find bat information on the official Little League Website.)

 

Minors (Player Pitch) (League Age:8*-10) Cost: $135/player

Player Pitch- Minors division is for players league ages 8*-10. (8 year olds should play 1 season of Machine Pitch before registering in this division.)

The experience is grounded in fun, fitness, and fundamentals while also being a key to growing a child's love for the game. Players use bats and balls designated specifically for use in this division. The roster size for the team averages 9-13 players, with a season featuring 1-2 practices per week early April thru mid-June and 1-2 games played during the week late April/early May thru mid-June.

This division plays inter-league with surrounding District 2 LL Leagues in the Battle Creek/Kalamazoo area.

Youth athletes are provided a team shirt, hat, and socks. *Players will need to get their own black baseball pants & belt.
